Dev Diaries: Grinding Langit Lupa

Working Through the Week

It feels like I never get a break anymore. I haven’t had time to scuba dive—a hobby I love— in over six months. I miss that “me time” when I could just relax underwater. Instead, I spend my free time working on Langit Lupa. And by free time, I mean when I’m not doing client work. Yes, client work is important because Langit Lupa doesn’t bring in any money yet. It’s all expenses, expenses, expenses. Client projects keep us afloat, and I owe everything to my team for letting me focus on Langit Lupa.

Why I Keep Pushing

So why do I give up time that I could be playing with fish underwater, and instead, sit in front of my laptop grinding away? It all comes down to motivation. I’m very motivated because I’m having fun. Trading my love for diving for coding means one thing: it’s even more exciting. Coding has become my new hobby, but only if you really love what you do.

The Real Secret Behind the Hustle

Honestly, you can’t always be naturally motivated all the time. A huge part of it is the people around me. My wife is incredibly supportive—she even makes her own social media posts because she enjoys it. And knowing that there are players enjoying Langit Lupa, giving us feedback, really fuels my passion. Knowing that someone out there is excited for us to improve the game makes all the hard work worth it.

Game Updates and New Modes

Just yesterday, I finished refactoring some messy code to make it easier to add new game modes. So today, even on a Saturday, I’m diving into a new mode called “Pass the Bomb.” Basically, players try to avoid holding the bomb until it explodes, or else it goes boom!

See you soon!
